Masamichi Yokoyama was born in Nagoya city, Aichi in 1930. In 1952, He debuted as a cartoonist with "SakuragaiHime" at rental libraries while attending Meiji University. He began to move into magazines in 1956. He also started drawing many genres of comics such as: teens with his world view, war stories, non-fiction, historical, hard-boiled stories and even erotica. His erotic comedy comics that were found on evening newspapers, such as "YarukiManman" and "Soreyuke Taisyo" were very popular among Japanese office workers. His important works are "Aa Seisyun", "Taiheiki", "Sanada Yukimura", "Sakamoto Ryoma", "Saigo Takamori", "Doterai Otoko", "Tokin Shinshi", "Akunin Shigan", "Iroma", "Zuzushi Yatsu", "Kurobe no Taiyo", "Ningen Gyorai Tenkai", "Maitei Jakku" etc. In Oct. 2003, he passed away at age 73. |
